Fast forward to 2024, we had our first black woman run for President of the United States. The disrespect didn’t disappoint. Majorie Taylor Greene, the female Trump, spewed all sorts of insults and threats to and about VP Harris and others, without fear of consequences because there were no consequences to fear.

Unfair & Deceptive Practices in Trade
The Federal Trade Commission Act or FTC Act defines “Unfair & Deceptive Practices in Trade”. This Act allows for application to just about any transaction, act, or behavior that “involves or affects commerce”. This article gives insight as to how the FTC Act can be [or is] to the Landlord-Tenant relationship.
The Act’s application in these situations addresses:
“the fact that a landlord or property management company cannot expect, demand, and receive full compensation [rental payment] for substandard housing.”
Tenants are often unaware of the Act’s existence and the fact that it’s a viable counterclaim when the landlord attempts to evict the tenant and/or knowingly, willingly, and intentionally refuses, fails, and/or prolongs mandated repairs to the property, which usually renders the property [apartment] unfit for human habitation.
